Invitation to Crafters
We invite everyone who has crafted something from the London Grove Penn Oak to share it as part of this celebration, held on the anniversary of the fall of our 350-year-old oak on September 19, 2023.
Much of the Penn Oak wood has now dried, and we have been receiving – and posting online – photographs of the beautiful and thoughtful objects being created from it.
If your project is too large to transport, bring a photograph to share. Tabletop pieces can be displayed throughout the event. If you have made items for sale, you are welcome to bring them as well. There is no charge to participate and all proceeds from sales go directly to the crafter.
Still Some Wood Left!
We have just learned that a good supply of smaller branches from the Penn Oak is still being stored at a member’s nearby farm. If you would like a piece of this historic oak for a small craft project, there is still time!
We will have a sign-up sheet at the celebration so you can arrange a time to pick up some wood. Our generous hosts would also be delighted to reclaim the space it is occupying in their fields.
Please contact LondonGroveOak@gmail.com to reserve space on our display tables.
Craft set-up begins at 11 a.m. The celebration opens at 12 noon.
